Susan Benoit, Photographer
Visual Arts have been a consistent thread throughout Susan`s lifetime, and photography started it all. As a young adult Susan began in black and white photography and darkroom techniques and continually upgraded here skills technically and practically.
Work experience in the advertising, promotion and printing industries enabled Susan to have critical input graphically and photographically to address her clients` marketing directives. In these years she worked closely with in-house and freelance photographers, always staying abreast of current photographic technologies.
Susan graduated from Georgian College with an honours diploma in Digital Photography and Imaging. In this time she was the winner of the digital photography award for two consecutive years including the Fujifilm Award of Excellence in 2005. Susan is a member of the Professional Photographers of Ontario and the Professional Photographers of Canada.
This background of education and experience has resulted in a spectrum of work that synthesizes her interest in creating compelling, functional images and her drive to satisfy an aesthetic leaning toward form, shape and texture. She works with equal ease whether shooting family portraits, architecture, commercial or editorial - storytelling with pictures. Hers is an eye that transforms the moment into something a little out of the ordinary.
